The under 12 team played three matches recently, unfortunately they fielded weakened teams against St. Rynaghs and Edenderry due to players on holidays and were soundly beaten in both matches. However the girls recovered last Friday to beat St Vincents in a competitive match. Aisling Feeney and Brid Molyneaux had excellent games in the backline for Tulllamore.Emma Cummins worked hard in midfield and goals from Bronagh Kane,Megan and Jane O Reilly and Aoibheann O Mahoney secured victory for the blues.

Junior Victory - Saturday, August 22, 2009
Hats off to the Tullamore Junior ladies team on an excellent victory over Doon/Shannonbridge last Wednesday night. This group of girls have trained hard all year under coaches Kevin and Dave but unfortunately results had not gone their way.In the last group game they were just pipped by Ferbane late in the game but this time the girls made no mistake. Emma Hoctor was probably player of the match but goalkeeper Sarah Spollen also made some timely interventions. This win places the girls in a good position for the semi final draws when made. St. Rynaghs were next up for the girls this week

Recent games
Under 14 Championship Round 2
The under 14 girls travelled to Edenderry to take on the local girls last week. They gave a good display despite a number of injuries to the panel. In fact they were only a point behind at half-time. Edenderry pulled away in the second half to win comfortably. Tullamore play Rhode next needing a result to guarantee a semi final place.
Under 12 Championship Round 3,4 and 5
The under 12 B team were in action against St Vincent's lately This team were short some players on the night and had to line out with 14. Nevertheless they gave an all round committed display. A Sarah Kehoe goal and point gave them a 2 point lead at half time.Unfortunately the girls tired in the heat in the second half which is understandable as the team is made up of under 11 and under 10 players. Vincent's ran out winners on a scoreline of 2:06 to 1:01. Full back Shannon Coyne was Tullamores player of the match. The B team also had games v Killeigh and Clara of late. Unfortunately they lost both although they were leading Clara at half time in that match. Under 10 players Muireann McDaid and Emma Dooley were players of the matches in thers games.

Under 12 championship Round 3 Tullamore A 3:04 Ferbane 3:08 - Sunday, May 17, 2009
Tullamore under 12 girls gave a brave performance going down to Ferbane on Sunday. Conceeding 2 goals in the first ten minutes didnt help their cause but credit to them they fought back to hit 3 goals and four points to take a goal lead with 12 minutes to go to the final whistle. Tullamore goal scorers were Sarah Walsh, Megan O Reilly and Bronagh Kane. Tullamore struggled to contain Ferbanes Roisin Egan and Ellie McEvoy all day and when Roisin crashed a 14m free to the net the writing was on the wall for Tullamore. They kept plugging away despite Ferbane kicking four points on the trot, unfortunately time ran out on the blues. They will have to gather themselves again now as they face championship favourites Edenderry in the next round. Tullamore player of the match Maedhbh Cowen. Team Rebecca Egan Maeve Fahey Aoife Nolan Maedhbh Cowen Emma Cummins Roisin Kane Clodagh Malone Katie Kehoe Shannon Touhey Orla Gorman Isobel Browne Aisling Feeney Megan O Reilly Bronagh Kane Sarah Walsh Muireann McDaid Maisie Currams Rebecca O Mahoney and Aisling Fox

Under 14 Championship Rnd 1 Tullamore 3:03 Killeigh 2:06
Tullamore Under 14s gave a committed display against their Feile conquerers Killeigh in the championship. They were rewarded with a hard fought draw on a heavy sod in O Brien Park. A determined start saw Lisa Gorman register an early goal and point before Killeigh with the aid of the breeze got into their stride and notched 2goals and 2 points. All six tullamore backs stood up to constant pressure at this stage of the match and last ditch tackles managed to put the Killeigh girls under enough pressure to kick wides. A break away Donna Murray point left the blues a goal behind at half time 2:02 to 1:02. Both sides traded points at the start of the second half before a rocket of a shot from Greta Ramelyte levelled matters with 20 minutes to go. Credit to Killeigh they came back with Lauren Kinahan leading the charge to score 3 excellent points. Tullamore always looked dangerous on the break and finally a Donnna Murray pass found Lisa Gorman inside the cover and she duly placed a side footed shot inside the post for a great goal. Both sides tried hard for a winner for the last 10 minutes, but when excellent referee Tom Darby blew the final whistle, all agreed it was a fair result. Player of the match for Tullamore was Paula Kinnarney with keeper Ayesha Brazil also rocksteady. Team Ayesha Brazil Rachel McDonagh Sarah Henry Chloe McGlinchey Aisling Neville Paula Kinnarney Jane Wyer Ciara Izuchuckwie Greta Ramelyte Ciara O Connor Annie Kehoe Aisling Fahy Lisa Gorman Donna Murray Sadhbh Kavanagh subs Eimear Gallagher Aoife Nolan Sinead Robilliard Edel Molloy and Shauna Moran

Offaly Ladies County Junior B Final - Sunday, September 07, 2008
Tullamore 4:04 Killeigh 3:09 A sluggish first 20 minutes cost Tullamore their chances of lifting the Junior B title. They found themselves 2:04 to nil down at that stage .Credit goes to the Tullamore girls in that they raised their game for the final 10 minutes of the half. An inspiring penalty save from Sarah Spollen sparked them into action with the ball being quickly transferred the length of the field before Aideen Marron was on the receiving end of a pass. She duly had the rigging of the net shaking with a ferocious finish for the score of the game. Aideen has to be complimented on covering the ground from one 14 yard line to the other before finishing with aplomb. A Dannielle Martin point from play and a Claire O Brien free continued the fight back to leave the half time score Tullamore 1:02 Killeigh 2:06. Tullamoe cut the gap further at the beginning of the second half with a fortunate goal from a high ball from Aoife Bagnall. Killeigh dominated for the next 15 minutes scoring a fortunate goal themselves and four excellent points. Elaine Delaneys strong running caused no end of problems for the Tullamore rearguard but the full back line stood up well to the pressure. The blues management sprung Clara Kavanagh from the bench for the last 15 minutes. Maeve Hurley hit a point before Eithne Leavy scored a great goal followed by another from Hurley. Tulamore were all over Killeigh as time entered the last 5 minutes with Tullamore in search of an equalising goal. A point for Claire O Brien narrowed the gap further before the woodwork saved Killeigh just at the death. Time ran out on the Blues to leave Killeigh winners by two points. Best for Tullamore Laura Guinan,Maeve Coleman, Emma Hoctor, Maeve Hurley, Claire O Brien and Clara Kavanagh. Full report on match and photo;

Under 16 Championship Semi final - Friday, October 10, 2008
The curtains were drawn down on the 2008 season for the Tullamore Ladies footballers when the Under 16 team lost the championship semi final to Rhode in Rhode on Wednesday last. The girls never really got going in this game and were well adrift at the finish. There is consolation for the team in knowing that twelve of the team are underage again next year for the under 16 grade.
Overall the year has been one of might have beens for the club. The junior girls lost their final by two points while the minor team lost their final by a single point after some very impressive performances in getting to the final. Definitely cases of so near and yet so far. On a brighter note the under 14 team retained the Birmingham 7 a side tournament in excellent style while the under 12s retained the county shield title. So on the whole there is much to build on for the 2009 season. Thanks to all players, mentors, commitee members and supporters for their efforts and enthusiasm throughout the year. Roll on 2009!

Under 12A Shield Final Tullamore 4:06 St. Rynaghs 0:11 - Friday, September 26, 2008
Hats off to the Under 12A team on their seven point win in the shield final before a big crowd in Clara last Wednesday evening. It is not often one can say that all 15 girls and subs who came in played above themselves but that is what happened in this match. The girls showed tremendous courage and determination all through and this win will go a long way to make up for final defeats suffered by many of this team in camogie U12 and U10 county finals and the B football final also. A goal from a free from Lisa Gorman gave the blues an initial lead, this was followed by the definite goal of the season from Megan O Reilly who chased a long delivery from Aisling Fahy and deftly flicked the leather over the head of the advancing keeper. The goal was reminiscent of one scored by Gooch Cooper for Kerry in the 2007 All Ireland! Another goal soon followed before Katie Kehoe finished a fourth to the net early in the second half. Rynaghs rose to the occasion then but unbelievable brave defending from captain Eimear Gallagher and her backs denied them the goal they needed to get back in the match. There were jubilant scenes at the end as the crowd rushed in to acclaim the heroes on the night. Mr Eamonn Fleming Clara was an excellent referee all through. Everyone of the team deserved player of the match for their contribution. Tullamore Eimear Gallagher, Aisling Neville, Ayesha Brazil, Laura Walsh, Ciara O Connor, Paula Kinnarney, Aoife Nolan, Sarah Henry, Chloe McGlinchey, Aisling Fahy, Ciara Izuchuckwie, Shannon Touhey, Lisa Gorman, Sadhbh Kavanagh, Megan O Reilly, Subs who played Katie Kehoe, Paula Kelly, Sharon Hand

Offaly U12 B Final Tullamore B v Ferbane - Saturday, September 20, 2008
The Under 12 B teams six month unbeaten run came to an end in an exciting county final played in O Brien Park on Friday evening last. As in all of the games they played this year they gave their all until the final whistle. The Ferbane girls had the advantage in strength throughout the field as twelve of Tullamores team are eligible for the under 12 grade next year. They made the size difference tell where they were dominant under the high ball at either end of the field. A lot of Tullamores good approach play came to nought as winner of the MVP award, Ferbane full back Dervilla Egan was very solid. Under 10 centre back for Tulllamore Katie Kehoe received special commendation for her performance from County Chairperson Mary Kelly at the presentation. The two Maeves defended well at the back and captain fantastic herself Paula Kelly gave a trojan display. Upfront Shannon Touhey and Sharon Hand played well while Orla Gorman was in the thick of the action.Megan O Reilly of the rocket shot top scored for the town with 1:03 on limited possession. The girls can be very proud of their performances all year and look forward with confidence to next years competition.

Offalt Under 12 Shield Final - Sunday, September 14, 2008
Tullamore A 2:05 St. Rynaghs 2:05
A late point secured a draw for the Tullamore A team in the shield final on Saturday last. The back line competed well while two expertly taken goals from Lisa Gorman seemed to put Tullamore in the driving seat. Credit to St. Rynaghs who showed their traditional never say die spirit to put themselves two points up with ten minutes remaining. The blues also showed their resilience in fighting back for a draw when all seemed lost. The replay will be played in Clara tomorrow Thursday at 6. Many are looking forward to the next intriguing instalment between therse two teams

Under 12 championship semi-finals - Friday, September 05, 2008
Mixed fortunes for our two under 12 teams this week. The B team had an extraordinary win over a good St. Vincents side on Tuesday night, scoring a whopping nine goals in the process. They now progress to the Under 12 B championship final on Saturday 13th of September, probably in Tullamore, where they will take on the girls from the green fields of Ferbane in what should be a keenly contested final. The A team girls put in a gutsy performance in going down to a hugely impressive Rhode outfit. The final scoreline of 3:08 to 0:05 did not give a true indication of the Tullamore girls efforts, nevertheless they now have a shield final to look forward to against St. Rynaghs on the 13th also. Those who tried hardest for Tullamore were Laura Walsh, Aoife Nolan, Ciara O Connor and Sadhbh Kavanagh

Under 14 Championship Semi Final - Sunday, July 13, 2008
Tullamore 4:04 Edenderry 5:05 Hard luck to the Tullamore girls under 14 team who were defeated by Edenderry last Saturday 12th July in Croghan in the championship semi-final.Tullamore were short star player Cianna Browne and this ultimately cost the girls an appearance in the final. A closely contested low scoring first half saw Edenderry lead by a point at half time 1:01 to 0:03. In the second half the reds built a good lead but great credit must go to the Tullamore girls in that they refused to throw in the towel and narrowed the lead sore by score. The final minutes saw the blues search desperately for an equalizing goal, unfortunately it was Edenderry who broke away to score a clinching point to win by 4.Best of luck in the final to Edenderry, where they will be up against a very strong Rynaghs outfit. Once again commiserations to the Team and Management on the result but also well done on the tremendous achievement of winning the Birmingham 7 a side competition and on some great performances during the year. Many of the girls will now turn their attention to the under 16A championship which will begin shortly. Team Donna Murray, Sonia Tahroui, Anne Berry, Rachel McDonagh, Aine Conway, Emer Kelly, Annie Kehoe, Greta Ramelyte, Alex Berry, Ciara Molloy, Aideen Brennan, Maebh Coleman, Jane Wyer, Ciara Geraghty, Lisa Gorman. The Under 12A team will rue the absence of three of their best players for this championship match against a strong Edenderry outfit. The girls of the under 12 B team gave another outstanding performance when drawing with St. Vincents 1:06 a piece in Cappincur on Monday night. Tullamore played with the strong breeze in the first half and were quickly into their stride with a point from Bronagh Kane. They had a few goal chances in the first half which Vincents were lucky to clear but also Shannon Tuohey was forced to make some good saves from the strong running St. Vincents girls. Further points followed from Deirdre O Connor and the impressive Alice Coffey. Vincents scored one point in the first half leaving the score Tullamore 0:4 St. Vincents 0:1. The Daingean parish girls reduced the margin to one point in the second half before great teamwork gave Bronagh Kane the opportunity to place a shot past the Vincents goalie for a capital goal. St Vincents did not throw in the towel and replied with a goal of their own. Alice Coffey pointed again for the "baby blues" after good work from Sharon Hand before two late frees from dubious fouls gave Vincents a share of the spoils. Tullamore A 2:04 St. Rynaghs 1:02
An impressive defensive display set up the Tullamore girls for a well deserved win in the third round of the championship over St. Rynaghs on Sunday. Scores proved hard to come by for both sides as the greasy and breezy conditions made handling difficult. Lisa Gorman scored a goal and a point in the first half, the goal coming thanks to a great pass from Sadhbh Kavanagh. Half time Tullamore 1:01 St. Rynaghs 0:01. Tullamore scored a fortuitous goal early in the second half from a 35 metre kick by Lisa Gorman to give them some breathing space before the same player added two frees. Chloe McGlinchey scored a fantastic point before being unlucky to have a goal disallowed. Rynaghs efforts were rewarded with a late point and goal before the finish. Under 18 Championship Round 3 - Tuesday, April 22,
Tullamore minors continued on their winning ways with a 1-9 to 1-4 victory over Killeigh on tuesday night. In a very competitive and entertaining game "The Blues" were first to settle and had built up a 1-4 to no score lead after 20 minutes, thanks to a Maeve Hurley goal. Killeigh dominated the final ten minutes of the first half and responded with 1-1 tally. The second half was a tense affair with every ball being contested vigorously, Killeigh pointed to reduce the lead to two points, however as the half wore on Tullamore started to dominate and responded with 5 points. Killeigh lay siege on the Tullamore goal for the last 5 minutes but were contained to a mere 2 poiint thanks in no small way to stout defending by Lisa Conway and the Coleman sisters. Tullamore played well in stages but were lacking the consistency necessary to win this competition, bearing in mind that Killeigh were short 7 of their players. Team: Maebh Coleman, Lisa Conway, Sorcha Coleman, Kate O Toole, Catherine Moloney, Aoibheann O Beirne, Rachel Flanagan, Danielle Martin 0-1, Emma Hoctor, Claire O Brien 0-2, Niamh Coughlan 0-1, Emma Magner 0-2, Denise Maher 0-1, Maeve Hurley 1-1, Kelley Cunnigham 0-1, Katie Byrne.

She was well supported by Paula Kelly, Elizabeth Coffey and Maeve Fahey (who managed to give an energetic display despite also starring in four separate stage performances at the weekend!). Under 14 Feile - Sunday, April 13, 2008
Last week provided mixed results for the Tullamore girls. The minor team had a big win over Ferbane while the Under 14s were beaten narrowly by Killeigh.
Offaly Feile Peil na nÓg Semi Final 11.04.08
Tullamore 2:05 Killeigh 4:02
The loss of goalkeeper Donna Murray to a bout of tonsillitis in the week prior to this match proved a big blow to the under 14 girls’ chances of progressing to the Feile final for 2008. Despite Tullamore having the run of play in both halves it was Killeighs’ ability to strike for breakaway goals (two in each half), which proved crucial. Tullamore had 5 points on the board at half time when playing with the stiff breeze but also conceded 2 goals to trail at half time 0:05 to 2:01. Tullamore tried for all they were worth in the second half against the strengthening wind, scoring two goals including a cracker from Alex Davis from 14 metres. The Killeigh girls managed to hold out though to progress to the final. Congratulations to Killeigh and we wish them good luck in the final. Tullamore player of the match Greta Ramelyte.
